My 60 hour week
For the past four days, I was in the office at 8am, ploughing through with my team on the presentation till 11pm. We were all tired, we all wanted to go home. Tempers flared, differences arose. But we all know that we had to get the presentation done. This being part of a training programme, it was hard to give it the deserved commitment. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
The interesting about working in a team in a pressure cooker environment is that everyone's strengths and weaknesses are stripped bare for all to see. We needed sleep, we were hungry and we were brain dead. But we managed to squeeze out the remaining ounces of energy to apply the B-M methodology to the preso.
We stuck together in the end and gave our spew in front of the judges. We knew very well that the competing team was much stronger. What was really important to us was to show that we had a solid case, a great concept and an exciting campaign. We weren't looking to win.
Nevertheless, victory is sweet. But it sure was unexpected. Although it was just a "game", I think the underdogs got its day. In the words of our "coach" and "professor" - "Thank you for playing Leading Growth".
